Spitfire Homes - Cossington

This 2.7 hectare site was an agricultural field immediately south of the Leicestershire Village of Cossington.

Given that the Local Authority could not demonstrate a 5 year supply of deliverable residential development sites this proposal was subsequently granted planning consent. (subject to Section 106 agreement)

The layout was carefully designed to respect the existing boundaries which formed  significant existing tree screens. The south in particular needed provide a soft landscaped edge and this was further reinforced with an additional green space beyond which only glimpses of development will be seen.

The scheme provides interesting streets and private roads addressed by dwellings displaying simple yet classically elegant designs focused on a modern interpretation of 18/19th century 'period' architecture.

“The Village Street has been designed to have a more intimate, informal feel with smaller more modest dwellings that are positioned closer to the street providing a reminiscence of the existing village streets found within Cossington Village”
