Moddershall Cottage is set in a beautiful location within the village conservation area and provided a challenging prospect in achieving alterations and extensions to form a family home.
Visual impact from outside the site was an important planning issue and so scale and massing proved to be key issues in both appeasing the planners and achieving the clients needs. Creating the first floor over the existing western wing meant forgoing the existing conservatory yet sensitively designing accommodation within the roof space meant we were able to attain a planning consent.
The mix of a more contemporary pallet of external materials provided a modern twist whilst retaining the traditional cottage build form.
“Some difficult planning and technical constraints to overcome here.... so pleased to get consent for what we needed”
